BASILE ENDORSED BY PBA OF NEW YORK STATE IN SENATE RACE
WOODBURY, NY– The Police Benevolent Association of New York State (PBA of New York State), representing men and women of law enforcement working in New York’s colleges, state parks system, and forest preserves, has announced its endorsement of Tom Basile for State Senate in the 39th District.
The law enforcement union association, which is made up of members of the New York State University (SUNY) Police, the New York State Environmental Conservation Police, the New York State Park Police, and the New York State Forest Rangers unions, backed Basile based on his past steadfast support for members of the law enforcement community and his experience working in the State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
“After careful consideration, the union representing nearly 1,200 state agency police officers proudly endorses Tom Basile in the election for the 39th Senate District,” said PBA President & University Police Officers Director Peter Barry. “Our officers face unique challenges on the job, and we need individuals like Tom Basile in the State Senate to help our officers better serve the people who live, work and visit New York State. Tom has demonstrated a commitment to the law enforcement community and that is why we are endorsing his candidacy.”
“Having served alongside our brave men and women in uniform in Iraq, I know what it means to put your life on the line and put your trust in the training and dedication of others. Members of our law enforcement community serve us on the job, and they continue to serve our communities after they retire from the force. It is a privilege and an honor to have the support of the PBA of NYS and its members and I be a strong voice for the brave men and women of the thin blue line in the Senate,” said Basile, who is running on the Republican, Conservative and Independence lines in November.
“When our law enforcement community has come under attack from activists, liberal politicians and the media calling for resistance, protest and even violence of our cops I have been proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with members of the law enforcement community and their families. Together with the members of the PBA of NYS, we will continue the legacy of Bill Larkin and his steadfast support of all those who risk their lives to keep us safe.”
Basile has also secured the endorsements of Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois, the Orange County Shields, and the Orange County Deputy Sheriffs’ PBA.
