VILLAGE OF WOODBURY MAYOR MICHAEL QUEENAN ENDORSES BASILE TO SUCCEED LARKIN IN THE STATE SENATE

WOODBURY, NY– Calling him someone he can trust to be a true partner for the Village of Woodbury, Mayor Michael Queenan has announced his endorsement of Tom Basile to succeed retiring Senator Bill Larkin in the 39th District.

Woodbury Mayor Michael Queenan said, “Tom Basile's experience at the state, local and national level, as well as his work in the private sector has prepared him to be a staunch advocate for our community. He understands the challenges we face and will work with local governments to ensure sustainable growth that's in keeping with our local vision."

Basile, who is a two-term elected official recently put forth a series of plans to help local governments including an infrastructure program and Regional Sustainability Initiative to address land use and economic development issues. This summer, he also released a proposal to take tax credits currently given to Hollywood studios and use it to lower income taxes for families with childcare expenses.

“I’m honored to have the support of Mayor Queenan,” said Basile, who is running on the Republican, Independence and Conservative lines in November. “The Village of Woodbury faces unique challenges. Unlike the current Assemblyman who looks to cut quick deals and steal cheap headlines, I will be a partner in state government to help our local leaders advance a sustainable vision for their communities. Albany’s priorities aren’t our priorities. We need to do all we can to help local businesses, local governments and local people advance the vision they see for their community. As Senator, I be an advocate for them so they can improve residents’ quality of life, grow the local economy and maintain home values for everyone in our area.”

In addition to Senator Larkin, Basile has previously announced the support of County Executives Neuhaus and Day, Sheriff Carl DuBois, Supervisors Piaquadio of Newburgh, Jeroloman of Blooming Grove, Cardone of Monroe, Winchell of Montgomery, and Monaghan of Stony Point, along with Mayors LoFranco of South Blooming Grove and Dwyer of Monroe, as well as numerous other officials and organizations.
