MONROE COUNCILMAN MIKE MCGINN ENDORSES TOM BASILE TO SUCCEED LARKIN IN THE STATE SENATE
MONROE, NY– Calling him an ally who has the best interest of the community in mind, Monroe Town Councilman Mike McGinn has announced his endorsement of Tom Basile to succeed retiring Senator Bill Larkin in the 39th District.
Councilman McGinn said, “Tom Basile has been an invaluable ally, working together with Sen. Bill Larkin to secure state grants for the Town of Monroe. We know we can count on him to work hard for us in Albany and to represent the best interest of the people in our community. Also, as someone who has been involved in law enforcement and public safety issues or over 30 years, I am deeply concerned with the prospect of the State Senate being controlled by the far left NYC Democrat political machine...the same radical activist and politicians who are pushing an anti-law enforcement agenda that does not reflect the values of the vast majority of us that live here in Orange County. We need Tom Basile in the Senate to ensure that our cops and first responders have the strong backing, and respect, that they justly deserve.” Basile has also been endorsed by Supervisor Tony Cardone, Legislator Peter Tuohy, Mayor Neil Dwyer, Councilman Rick Colon (D), Trustee Dorey Houle and former Mayor James Purcell (D).
Basile, who brings to the race both private sector and government experience, expressed his appreciation to Councilman McGinn for his strong support and thanked him for his years of service in law enforcement.
“Councilman McGinn has been a tremendous asset to the town board in Monroe. Like so many others who serve in local government after serving in other capacities, he brings real world experience that helps improve our community. As a former law enforcement officer and a leader in our local law enforcement community, Mike has time and again proven he’ll be there for us, and I’ll be proud to work with him to improve people’s quality of life in our area,” said Basile, who is running on the Republican, Independence and Conservative lines in November.
In addition to Senator Larkin, Basile has previously announced the support of County Executives Neuhaus and Day; Sheriff Carl DuBois; Legislators Vero of Chester, Stegenga of Blooming Grove, Litt of Plattekill, Gerentine of Marlborough, Minuta of New Windsor, and Tuohy of Monroe; Supervisors Green of New Windsor, Winchell of Montgomery; Carnes of Crawford, Piaquadio of Newburgh, Jeroloman of Blooming Grove, Cardone of Monroe, Monaghan of Stony Point, Croce of Plattekill; and Mayors LoFranco of South Blooming Grove, Dwyer of Monroe, Rumbold of Walden, and Queenan of Woodbury, as well as numerous other local officials and organizations.
